Keeping patient reviews safe, clear and fair

A straightforward guide to sharing your experience on CannaBias, and to how content is assessed before publication.

Content Standards & Moderation Policy

Share your experience

Reviews are for your own experience of prescribed products, not instructions for someone else.

Keep it safe

Leave out personal information, dosage or treatment instructions, medical claims and promotional content.

A clear process

Content is assessed against these standards so that patient voices can be shared responsibly.

Why these standards exist

CannaBias exists to enable verified prescription holders to share their personal experiences of prescribed medical cannabis products in a safe, structured, and lawful way.

CannaBias is a hosting platform, not a publisher, and does not endorse user opinions.

This policy explains what content is permitted, what content is restricted or removed, how moderation decisions are made, and how transparency and fairness are maintained.

The principles we use

All user content must be:

Experiential – based on personal experience, not instruction

Lawful – compliant with UK law and regulation

Respectful – non-abusive, non-harassing

Non-promotional – not advertising or inducement

Non-clinical – not medical advice

What you can share

Users may share:

  • Personal experience of a prescribed product
  • Subjective effects (for example, “I felt calmer” or “helped my sleep routine”)
  • Sensory observations (taste, smell, appearance)
  • Non-comparative feedback (what worked or did not work for them)
  • General satisfaction or dissatisfaction

This content may be critical, provided it reflects personal experience and does not assert unverified facts.

What to leave out

The following content is not permitted and may be removed or restricted:

Medical or Clinical Claims

  • Claims to treat, cure, or prevent conditions
  • Dosage advice or titration guidance
  • Instructions on changing prescribed use
  • Comparative efficacy claims presented as fact
  • Example: “This cured my anxiety”

Promotional or Commercial Content

  • Advertising products, clinics, or pharmacies
  • Incentivised or sponsored reviews
  • Affiliate links or inducements

Harmful, Unlawful, or Abusive Content

  • Defamatory statements presented as fact
  • Harassment, hate speech, or threats
  • Encouragement of illegal activity
  • Misuse of the platform to target individuals or organisations

Privacy Violations

  • Personal data of third parties
  • Identifiable staff names linked to allegations
  • Medical data not belonging to the author

How moderation works

How content is assessed

  • Automated checks for restricted language and claims
  • Human review of flagged content
  • User reporting tools

What moderators do

  • Assess content against this policy
  • Remove or restrict non-compliant content
  • Apply consistency, not opinion

What moderators do not do

  • Edit or rewrite user opinions
  • Add meaning, emphasis, or sentiment
  • Verify factual accuracy of claims

CannaBias does not adjudicate disputes or determine truth.

What may happen to content

Approved and published
Temporarily restricted pending review
Permanently removed
Retained with no action

Where appropriate, users may be notified of actions taken.

Your identity and privacy

  • Users may post under pseudonyms
  • Contributors are verified as being in possession of a prescribed cannabis-based product (CBPM). Verification confirms possession of a prescription, not identity.
  • An email address is held for the account; verification does not establish identity.
